Dear Chester,
Thanks for being there for us all this time. We all know you had issues, yet you managed to get through them for all these years. I too have suffered from depression, and it hurts to think how bad you must have felt before deciding leaving this world was for the best.
I fell in love with Linkin Park in 2004. For the next six years, my ultimate life goal was to see this band performing live. Today, 21/07/2017, I can say I am honored to have seen Linkin Park live 8 times, in 4 different countries and 6 different cities.
Despite living in São Paulo, Brazil, two back-to-back nights at The O2 Arena in London and the first ever LPU Summit in 2010, were my introduction to the band. I didn’t actually get to talk to you guys, but seeing all six in front of me, and listening to you and Mike perform Leave Out All The Rest and The Messenger was way more than I could ever ask for.
I cried all day yesterday. I cried my heart out listening to One More Light. It’s really hard, but I am trying to remember the good things. Your voice is the soundtrack of my life, and your legacy with Grey Daze, Dead by Sunrise, Stone Temple Pilots, and Linkin Park will never die.
To you, Chester: I hope you have finally defeated your demons.
To your family, friends, bandmates and crew: I am so sorry for your loss. He will be missed and never forgotten.
To all fans: Stay strong. We are one. We are Soldiers. We are Linkin Park.
With love,
Vini.
