Whatโs the official name of your position? Can you give us some insight into your daily work?
Officially I am Joe’s DJ tech. I designed, built and programmed Joe’s incredibly intricate and custom DJ set-up, which includes turntables, computers, FX, and auxiliary controllers used in the performance of the lead-lines (hooks) in each song. I set it up each day and make sure it is in order for each of the 3 rotating set lists that we had for this last run. I also help out with as many other things as I can, varying from helping to tune the drums Brad Delson plays on “When they come for me” to facilitating our “Eastbound and down” marathons we watched on the long bus rides we had between cities. But the most important thing I do all day is set up the Linkin Park edition Transformer and WWR security robot protecting Joe’s rig, ๐
How long have you been a part of the Linkin Park Team and how did you get there?
I have only been apart of the Linkin Park camp since July, even though it feels like I have been a part of the family for several years. Linkin Park really is a family environment, and feels so consistently.
I was recommend for the job by close friend and amazing musician, Marc Delcore, who musical directs and plays keyboards for such major artists as Britney Spears and the Scissor Sisters, among others
What is your greatest memory since working for Linkin Park? Whatโs the worst one?
I think my greatest memory was the first day of full band rehearsals and really getting into working alongside the Linkin Park team. Meeting the gang (Jim Digby, Pooch, Cookie, Tater, Pablo, Sean Paden, Ted, Brad Stonner, Dylan, Jeremy (who I already knew from working with before), and the guys in the band I didn’t know already, was a real amazing week, that I will remember forever.
There really is no “worst moment” when it comes to Linkin Park. Everyday brings new, exciting, and amazing adventures. Although our last show in Mexico City got a little sketchy when the crowd on the floor pushed forward and bent the barricade. But after a quick fix, the show turned out to be one of the best, with one of the most energetic crowds so far this year!
If you have anything to say to the Linkin Park fans, go ahead!
I am amazed at how enthusiastic, dedicated, and energetic, Linkin Park fans are. From the force of the LPU, to the dolls people make resembling band members. This band has been kicking ass for a little over ten years and the passion the fans bring to every show is mesmerizing. The love they show for their favorite band at shows proves there will be another ten plus amazing years ahead. Thanks for accepting me into the LP family, and I will see you all soon.
