What’s the official name of your position? Can you give us some insight into your daily work?
I do two jobs for Linkin Park. First, and foremost, I am their FOH engineer. This means that I mix the sound that is heard by the audience at any of their shows. I use lots of different technology to provide the best sounding shows possible. Each instrument has individual microphones, and it is my job to put all of those things together, to make it sound as close to the record as possible, AND give you a feeling of impact of being at a live show. My second job is the Mix engineer for live releases. We record every single show and release as many as we can as Digital Souvenir Packages. I spend a great deal of time in my day mixing previous shows so that you guys get a record quality bootleg of the shows that you were at. I oversee all live sound releases having to do with Linkin Park, which may include TV shows, Itunes release, etc. … Continue Reading

What’s the official name of your position? Can you give us some insight into your daily work?
My official title is Backline Crew Chief and Brad Delson’s guitar technician.
My daily work consists of maintaining and programming ampilfiers, preamplifiers, effect processors and pedals as well several midi controller devices used to perform Linkin Park songs live. This also includes maintaining all functionalities of the guitars: from restringing, to electronic replacement and repair as well as structural repair of the instruments (broken headstocks etc.). All this requires many relationships with companies that make components we use. For instance, Brad uses Paul Reed Smith guitars, if one breaks beyond repair I’ll call their artist relations rep to acquire a new one. It’s not as easy as it sounds, as most of the guitars are custom and not off the shelf. So, specifications are discussed and a guitar is ordered to our specs. This takes time and to get it expedited quickly, it helps to have these working friendships speed up the process. I spend a lot of time nurturing these relationships. This is the MOST important part of my job and the least noticed by the band. … Continue Reading

What’s the official name of your position? Can you give us some insight into your daily work?
Officially I am Joe’s DJ tech. I designed, built and programmed Joe’s incredibly intricate and custom DJ set-up, which includes turntables, computers, FX, and auxiliary controllers used in the performance of the lead-lines (hooks) in each song. I set it up each day and make sure it is in order for each of the 3 rotating set lists that we had for this last run. I also help out with as many other things as I can, varying from helping to tune the drums Brad Delson plays on “When they come for me” to facilitating our “Eastbound and down” marathons we watched on the long bus rides we had between cities. But the most important thing I do all day is set up the Linkin Park edition Transformer and WWR security robot protecting Joe’s rig,
