Today is Music for Relief Day and the Linkin Park fan community tries to raise at least $1,000 for MfR. Please support this by donating on http://stayclassy.org/mfrday. It is important that you donate on this fundraising page, so your donation can be counted.
You might be wondering, what will happen to your money after the donation. Music for Relief has released a report about their recent efforts in the US and especially in Haiti. The fundraising page will support those relief efforts!
Here is the report:
” In New York and New Jersey, Save the Children has been there since day 1 helping the kids affected. MFR’s support has helped Save replace indoor and outdoor learning materials that were damaged or destroyed by the storm, provide assistance like transportation support to ensure that children are able to access child care and families are able to get back to work. Save has also implemented Journey of Hope in New Jersey and Staten Island, a psychosocial program that helps children and adults cope, build on their natural resiliency and strengthen their network of social support with friends and others—to help them recover from the fear, loss and stresses related to Hurricane Sandy.
In Haiti Hurricane Sandy left over 200,000 homeless, in areas that are already impoverished and vulnerable. With support from Music for Relief, International Medical Corps added Mobile Medical Units at the Les Cayes site, one of the hardest hit areas – in just two months they provided nearly 2,500 medical consultations. They have also conducted public education sessions for nearly 8,500 people on malaria, water treatment and hygiene, use of bed nets and waste management. While also working to rehabilitate the Aquin water system to ensure a safe supply and distribute shelter, hygiene and essential supplies to populations affected by Sandy in the South Department.”
As you can see, every donation is needed! The rebuilding process in Haiti is still at the beginning, so please go to http://stayclassy.org/mfrday now and donate whatever you can!
Thank you!
