Hypebeast featured James Jean in their “Pen & Paper” series. In a slideshow consisting of 21 images, the artist shows us his sketchbook containing all the drawings of our beloved The Hunting Party characters. In our latest Pen & Paper installation, James lets us into the world of his sketchbooks, this time for American rock band Linkin Park‘s album “The Hunting Party.” The series of sketches were not only envisioned for the purpose of the album cover but as an exploration of a universe of characters that would then be converted into 3D and graphic assets for a variety of applications.
James Jean is no unknown artists. He has illustrated lots of DC comics including covers for Fables, Green Arrow and Bat Girl. In addition he has worked with some big names such as Prada, Time Magazine, Playboy and The Rolling Stone. For his work, he has won a bunch of Eisner awards, Harvey awards and a World Fantasy Award. James Jean is a very active artist who regularly exhibits his work and has published several art books. You can find more information on his website.
