“Following our performance tonight at Cape Town Stadium, we were advised that several people were injured as a result of the collapse of an advertising tower erected by Lucozade in the parking area outside the venue.
We wish to express our deep sadness and concern for those injured and our heartfelt condolences to the family of the fan who died as a result of her injuries.
Though we have had no relationship with the sponsor or the entity responsible for erecting the structure, we take the safety of our fans very seriously and our thoughts are with all of those who were affected by this tragedy.”
LPFC expresses the sincerest condolences to the family and friends of the girl that passed away.

A few days after the accident only few people are talking about it anymore. Kind of sad.

Very sad , but everyone should understand it was a freak accident and Linkin Park is not at fault. I commend them for their sincerity and kind words. Our prayers are with all those who are injured.

I guess it was the worst form of advertising for Lucozade. The actual mention that it was a Lucozade scaffolding is making the rounds on all social media platforms.
The structural engineers should be investigated. They should have checked the weather thoroughly and assessed whether the structure could handle that type of wind we have here in Cape Town…
My sympathies go to the lady that passed from this tragedy.

I agree with you. Lucozade will definitely suffer commercially from this. It’s always hard to judge without knowing all details, but the engineers will have to answer a lot of questions for sure.
