I prefer this design over LPU11 – and I already liked that one a lot. We now have a black/white/red design reminiscent of the LIVING THINGS design with a hidden menu that can be opened by clicking the LPU sign. In my opinion a very stylish and classy design. The whole site looks more organized and cleaner.

The homepage shows you a huge slider that takes up most of the screen (at least in my case), the other homepage content hasn’t changed, but the layout is very different. While we had one page with small sections for news, events, etc., those sections are now bigger – one upon the other – with a new background for each section, so it seems like you scroll through different pages. The negative point is that you don’t have a clear overview, but I still prefer this layout. It just looks cooler.
The fun part is that the menu is connected to the layout. When you click on “News”, it won’t open a new page, but scroll down to the News section of the homepage, which is saving time and appears to be way smoother.
The new logo also mirrors the clean, classy and simple design of the whole site.

The merchandise package is pretty solid in my opinion. I really like the design and colors of the shirt, the water bottle looks great and I can actually use it, the Carabiner keychain is pretty awesome, too – it looks better than the earplug keychain from last year. Some of the long time LPUers said that there was a Carabiner key chain in an LPU merch pack some years ago, so they weren’t really happy with that one. I only joined last year, so I’m fine with that. I won’t use the guitar pick, but it’s still a nice extra. The laminate + lanyard look great, too. The LPU12 design is just pretty badass.
I also really like the extras the early birds are getting, especially the CD!
