Well… Here we go again. I know I took some time for that review here, but… yeah, let’s say I was busy with all the Linkin Park stuff, album release etc. So where was I? Ah right, the road trip to Berlin for the Telekom Street Gig with Linkin Park.

Right after I left Rock am Ring, I got home for a little sleep, a shower and some fresh clothes and originally I wanted to go to university that morning, but guess what… I slept 8 hours instead of 2, so I just unpacked my car, took a shower, packed my car again and off we were to Berlin! So that evening at around 7 we reached Berlin and got home or – on my side – to a friend.
Aaand there was the day, my first Linkin Park club show ever. My friends had to go to University in the morning, I got myself some new contacts because mine got lost somewhere (I later found them in my flat when I was back home, but who cares), so I got them and some breakfast and I stopped by the Admiralspalast just to see, that there were around 50 fans already, crazy! So I went back to my friend’s flat, worked a bit and waited for him to come home so we could leave for the venue.
Finally at the venue the first thing I did was to say hi to so many people I knew there and while we waited we made a little fun of the German comedian Simon Gosejohann who did the moderation of the event for the German TV channel Prosieben and needed at least as much as 13 takes for that, hilarious. But I won’t bore you any longer with standing in line stories, they’re boring, I know.
So when we got in, I met even more people I know and haven’t seen earlier, so we stood there just waiting for the show to begin and wow, that club atmosphere just sent shivers down my spine. We all had a lot of fun and during some songs I even had a friend on my shoulders, and she was really thankful because she’s not really the tallest person I know, to be honest.
We even had that little flashmob during BURN IT DOWN where we all threw LED lit balloons in the air during the chorus and Mike surely had a lot of fun kicking those back to the crowd. And later on he even came to the crowd during In The End and, well, he stood kinda right in front of me and when he wanted to get back on stage some fan tried to hold him, I guess Mike was pretty relieved when I separated their hands so he could go back on stage.
After the show, Mike – across the first row again – shook hands with as many fans as possible and even gave out some guitar picks (I got one of them yay :D) and, as you can guess from the setlist,we all had a whole lot of fun at that intimate show!
After the show we left the venue quite early but stood outside to meet up with many fans, did some small talk with several crew members who’re always fun to talk to and later went to eat some pizza with some friends, while others went to a bar to get a drink, but we were too exhausted to go there.
The day after that, I did some sightseeing in Berlin, met up with some friends from Berlin and just did some kind of tourist day, but that’s all and I guess you are not really interested in that. So that’s all and we may see each other again for the German tour this fall, we’ll see what I can do, but I’m not sure if I have the time for some show reviews! Cheers, BC
Adie: Thanks so much for the review! It might have been late, but it was worth it. Those are some cool pictures (more in the gallery below). Remember to check out Black Chesters Linkin Park website, which is directed at German speaking fans.
There are still many open spots for the Honda Civic Tour, so if you want to review an upcoming show just check out this post!
