Brad Delson talks with Music Radar about “Guilty All The Same”, the new album, collaborations, self-producing the next album, learning the processes of other artists in the prcoess, & they discuss other things… Let’s just say things aren’t just getting loud, they’re getting HEAVY!
When asked why Guilty All the Same was released way earlier than their album: “For us, it’s the perfect lead offering to set the tone for the album as a whole.” The band has seen & heard the reaction to the first track of their new album & Brad jokes that Mike and their bandmates joke about people saying, “Old Linkin Park is back” or “It’s like their old stuff” because the way the band looks at Linkin Park’s forthcoming album it’s sort of a prequel to Hybrid Theory. What motivated the band for the sounds of their new album? “There’s a lot of heavy music out there, and there’s a lot that’s experimental, and there’s a lot of great songwriting, too. Our DNA and our mission as a band is to make something specifically our own that combines these things in such a way that we’re suited to do; especially our emphasis on making that visceral, unapologetic music but still bringing to bear our love of songwriting and melody. That’s what we’ve been slaving away at every single day for the last six months.”
