Brad and Joe took on another interview in Spanish a few days ago, both talking about the new album One More Light with Colombia’s Shock.
It’s a pleasant reminder that Brad can sometimes reach out in Spanish, starting off the interview as such explaining they did not try to make a concept album, but rather an album with honest and personal songs and the ‘common theme’ would simply be the honesty they all hold. He switches back and forth between English and Spanish further into the interview-
“Cuánto tardaron en hacer One More Light?” / “How long did you take to make One More Light?”
Brad answers that they worked for what seems as two years, but was closer to a year and a half, about sixty songs made; their ten favorite songs are what make up One More Light.
“Cómo se llama el disco en español?” / “How is the album name translated in Spanish?”
Brad was unsure for a bit, laughing as he answered “Un Más Luz, right?” and felt that [the title] gave an introduction of sorts to the album’s representation; by the way, it’d be “Una Luz Más.”
They are asked how it was working with Kiiara for the first single, “Heavy,” and Joe again resounds ‘honest and personal,’ noting that “Heavy” stood out the most for her when she first came into the studio. The album, as a whole, gave them an excitement in which Joe describes to be like feeling young again.
