It’s Fall in Los Angeles. In LA, it doesn’t start feeling like Fall until the very end of October or early November. I look forward to it every year. The weather starts to cool off, we get a little bit of rain from time to time, and some of the leaves that aren’t attached to palm trees start to change colors. Well, this year, I’m skipping part of Fall and jumping into Spring for a couple weeks…
That’s right, I’m heading south. Waaayyyyy south. South Africa to be exact. Next week, I fly to Cape Town for the start of a very short South Africa tour. Linkin Park are only playing two shows down there, one in Cape Town and one in Johannesburg, but they’re going to be some of the biggest they’ve ever played. The Johannesburg show is at 60,000 seat soccer stadium. I have a feeling it’s going to be one of the best Linkin Park shows I’ve seen to date. I’m really looking forward to it.
The part I’m dreading is my 28 hour trip, one way. I leave LAX on Thursday, 11 hour flight to London, 6 hour layover, 11 hour flight to Cape Town. Yuck. To pass the time, I’ve loaded up seasons 1 through 4 of “Sons of Anarchy” on my iPad. I also plan on popping a couple sleeping pills on at least one leg of the trip.
South Africa is a pretty cool way to close out the touring year. I’ve been all over the world the last 16 months. 4 continents, 12 countries and 18 states. My Facebook map is getting pretty full! It’s been a pretty great experience.
My next update will be coming to you from Cape Town, South Africa!
