  • Chester Bennington is the new lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots! Chester joined the band at KROQ’s Weenie Roast on stage, yesterday, but that’s not all that happened. They have also released a new track, you can download exclusively on radio.com.

In an interview with KROQ STP guitarist Dean DeLeo said:

Chester has a one-of-a-kind voice that we’ve admired for a long time. We know LINKIN PARK will always be his priority, but we thought it would be cool to try something together. We managed to find the time to record a song and we’re all really happy with the result.

    Chester himself told KROQ:

I’ve loved STP since I was 13 years old and they’ve had a huge influence on me. When the opportunity came up to do something creative with them, I jumped at the chance. The guys in Linkin Park have been incredibly supportive of me undertaking this project while I’ve continued to work on new music with LP.

  • Dear LPFC readers,

that didn’t take so long, did it? We are up and running, and I’m very happy to present you the new version of Linkin Park Fan Corner!

    New Layout

As you can see, the layout is now very media driven, and to say it plainly, absolutely epic!
In the top slider, you can see the latest news presented to you in a cool design. The carousel beneath it, has the latest videos that were posted on LPFC.
We now have two sidebars, so you don’t have to scroll too much. Also, some of the less important widgets were removed.
If you want to read the blog, I advice you to click the “View more” button. It will take you to a full width view of the blog, no sidebars!
I hope you like the new layout! Leave a comment!

    New Topics

In the menu, you can see the new Press section. There you will find a list of articles and videos mentioning Linkin Park. Since some of them write about the same topics, I tend to just tweet them, instead of posting all of them. Still, it’s nice to have an overview of press coverage on the blog as well. More articles will be added to the section soon.

Soon to be added, are the sections “Interviews”, “Fan Art” & “Remixes and Covers”. While the last two ressorts are self explanatory, I prefer we talk about the Interviews section at a later date. Stay tuned ;-D.

    New Team Members

    d0aee698372c7b151d9877574e7f6c86909e3820d0a3a1ca5981cd0abd46eace

I’m very happy to announce that the LPFC team will be joined by Paul Gardiner and Lizzi Cloverman! Both are from the UK and they are actually a couple (“Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww”).
Some of you might know them from the LPU, cause they are very active on LPU and you can meet them very often in the chat, there.

    More Team

LPFC will now be more team driven! Instead of just me posting everything, while the others write the occasional review, the team members now have a certain ressort.

You can find the new team members and their ressorts on this page!

  • Because Linkin Park is taking time off from touring to record their next studio album & soundtrack for Joe Hahn’s “The Mall,” I thought it would be fun to do some “OFF TOUR INTERVIEWS” with the Touring Crew.
I have been fortunate enough to network with some of the touring staff of the Linkin Park camp during the last year through social media as well as in person during Linkin Park events/shows. Adie has already done a few “Meet the Crew” interviews so I wanted to continue with the interviews and ask them questions besides Linkin Park related ones just so we can get to know awesome the staff (not that we don’t already know this).

I attended the show at PH! Live at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas and kicked back with Warren before he headed off to New Zealand and Australia. Before leaving for the airport, He promised me an interview for LP Fan Corner when he got back and both had time. Here it is for all of you to enjoy!

    image

Hi Warren. Thanks for chatting with LP fan corner again! Can you tell anyone that missed your first interview with our Admin Adie what you do for linkin park?

Hi my name is Warren and I’m a Joe-a-holic

What other musicians have you worked for?
In reverse order it’s been Linkin Park, Slipknot, Demi Lovato, The Bravery, AFI, Ke$ha, Scissor Sisters, Adam Lambert, Maroon 5, Ashlee Simpson, Jessica Simpson

What have you been doing since the NZ/AU shows?

Wishing I was bac in NZ/AU

What’s been your favorite place to tour & why? (Doesn’t have to be a place that you toured with LP to)

NZ obviously, but South Africa was amazing too, anywhere you can go shark diving is OK by me.

At the start of the Asia tour, you will be with the LP touring staff for a year. What’s your funniest memory so far?
A year! That’s it.. its funny everyone is always asking me if I remember this time when… But I don’t because I wasn’t there, even though it feels like it.

Funniest = having South American airlines destroy my luggage, you wouldn’t think that was funny, but it was so destroyed all I could do was laugh..

What’s the best thing about working for Joe/LP?

Getting to work for the most entertaining guy in one of the best bands of the last decade.

Since you’ve been with the touring staff the least amount of time, do you feel like the baby of the family (picked on a lot, pranks while you’re sleeping, etc) or do you enjoy it because you’ve been with staff that have been with LP a long time as well asmany other great artists?

Sleeping pranks are only appropriate for people who fall asleep in the front lounge of the bus. No, the fact that I am even with LP proves that I have been doing this long enough… there is no new guy treatment.

In the most recent LP-TV episode “You’re a Legend,” You can see Warren & the rest of the crew doing their set change starting at 4:13. Thank you so much to Mark Fiore for giving a glimpse into their world. Being at the barricade for 90% of the shows I attended, I enjoy watching how fast they change the set & how great of a team they are. I’ve heard great things from a lot of the crew members on what a great family they are on the road and they really are what help to have a great show.

    FUN STUFF

If you Weren’t doing what you’re doing now, what job do you think you would have?

    I’d be a helicopter pilot.

    Can you play any instruments?
Pooch and I are both products of Berklee college of music.. My principle instrument is drums but I play piano too, and my college degree (Bachelors) is for Drum set performance. Pooch’s instrument was bass. We should start a band.

What television shows do you watch regularly?

I don’t have TV… but I find a “magic” way to keep up with Dexter, the Simpsons Sunny in Phila, 30 Rock and The Office.

What’s the last good movie you saw?
My favorite movie of all time just became Wreck it Ralph

    What’s your favorite food?
I’m a vegetarian. So stuff without meat.. Im a sucker for a grilled cheese from in-n-out.

Thank you so much to Warren for taking time off from being off tour to chatting with me. Look for more interviews with touring staff while we anxiously await the Sunset Strip Music Festival in LA & the Living Things Asian tour that starts in August! • I woke up yesterday with a simple agenda.

    It’s Monday, I thought.

Today is my first official day off as an almost-graduated college baccalaureate. No art class today, so let’s have some fun.

The plan was to grab lunch with Devin and head over to Jimmy Kimmel Live to see what 30 Seconds To Mars was all about. But about halfway through our sushi and bento special in downtown Little Tokyo, the plot quickly thickened. Linkin Park was at it again…

Rumor was that the band was out in Hollywood promoting their upcoming show for the Sunset Strip Music Festival on August 3rd. And after sifting through multiple texts, Instagram photos, and chaos on The Twitter, we figured out that Sunset Blvd was the place to be.

We drove down Sunset Blvd not exactly sure of who, or what we were looking for. But we eventually recognized a small group of familiar, unmistakable faces loitering around a Coffee Bean parking lot with posters and flyers in hand…

Mike, Brad, Phoenix, Adam, and videographer Mark Fiore were on the move. Devin and I parked and caught up with them, eager to help with their mission of spreading the word about SSMF. After a brief introduction, Brad and Phoenix were kind enough to give us both a handful of custom-made handouts. There were four different designs, each one uniquely sketched and printed by Mike Shinoda himself.

We were soon joined by friends Brandon, Natasha, and Katelyn, who were also excited to join the mission. So we all set to work, marching down the street like true Linkin Park soldiers, offering these special flyers to the good people of Los Angeles who were lucky enough to pass by. We reached the parking lot and decided to leave several flyers on a few windshields as well before Katelyn, Devin and I headed over to Hollywood and Highland to catch the quick show from 30STM on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Of course, the fun didn’t stop there…  After the live 30STM show, we took to the street once again and continued our promotion, passing out the rest of our flyers on the busy Hollywood Blvd. Meanwhile, Natasha and Brandon teamed up with Susy, Johanna, and Leo at UCLA to finish off a day of good work!

    Image

(WE ARE THE STREET TEAM: Brandon @brandon_288, Devin, Dayna @pandayna, Susy @susyxthemsnger, Leo @TheRottenKing, Natasha @NLopezdeArenosa, Johanna @livingthing90)

Things like this make it so much fun to be a part of the cause. And after all these years of being a fan of the band, I finally got to take a decent picture with three of them! I’m now a part of the picture club. I feel validated in a way. Silly but true…

I woke up this morning thinking about how important it is to build real relationships with friends and family and the people we care about. The tragic aftermath of the events in Oklahoma these past few days reopened my eyes a little bit to the significance of life’s personal associations, and how quickly things can change. Meanwhile we try to do what we can to make the most of it all.

It was a great thing to see the band going ‘back to basics’ in a sense, by forming tangible relationships and connecting directly with the people and the fans. Putting a little bit of time, effort, and dedication into marketing and promoting the show definitely goes a long way. Not to mention it was a lot of fun!

Big thanks to Mike, Brad, Phoenix, Adam, and Fiore for being so generous, polite, and patient with all of us. Much love and respect on behalf of Team Free Will. We appreciate it more than you know.

Behind the Scenes of…Linkin Park Revolution – An Interview with James

  • 08/08/2012
  • adiek84
  • · Interviews · LPFC Interviews

Linkin Park Revolution is one of Germany’s biggest Linkin Park fansites and the only one with a message board. Besides posting all the Linkin Park news, they also do some fun stuff like contests and I really enjoyed their soccer prediction game during the last European championship XD. If you can speak German, you should get registered there and be a part of their community! One of their staff members, James, was so nice to answer a few questions for me.

When was Linkin Park Revolution founded? Can you briefly describe the process?

Well, Records say it was the 24th of April 2005. For me it’s kind of impossible to describing the foundation process, as for the current Administrators (Jacob, Roman and me) were not involved in the foundation process.

What was the main reason of starting the site?

I would guess, the founders did it the share the interest with other people. that was the main reason why I took over back in 2011.

What were your personal highlights in the history of the LPR so far and were there moments when you had problems to maintain the site?

My personal Highlights were the fusions between LPRevolution and Hybridsoldier, and the Fusion between LPRevolution and LPGermany.

Actually we always have problems maintaining the Site, especially the Board because changing and Update the Board is always a hard act to do, but we always seem to manage it.

Linkin Park Revolution is one of the biggest German fansites and probably the only major site in German language with a message board. Do you think it’s important for the German fans to have their own fansite and message board? If yes, why?

In times of social networking it’s hard keeping a certain amount of active users on the message board, but I actually find it very import because, that is how you make contact with other fans and the only proper way of sharing interests with others instead of just liking things that other people post on facebook.

Even though I know the LPR for quite a while, I just recently found the „Fan Campaigns“ section with a small but pretty cool feature. Fans can get registered there as „Sons/Daughters of the Revolution“ and add a brief profile with information on how they discovered Linkin Park etc. Do you think that there are more features of the site that many fans seem to overlook? If yes, can you briefly describe those features?

Well I guess there are some features that fans don’t know because, the page is kind of complex. One of those features would be rating songs, I haven’t quite figured out how to use it and that’s kind of embarrassing for me.

What have you planned for the LPR in the future? Is there a part of the site that you want to improve on?

Well we are working on the 8th Version of LPRevolution and there are lots of news things coming like a mobile site and more, but I don’t want to tell more because it’s kind of a secret, but you’ll defiantly see when it’s time.

Thanks for the Interview ;-)
- dark4521 (aka James)

Adie: Big thanks to James from the LPR staff! I have a feeling that the next interview is especially interesting for the Chester Bennington fans… ;-D
